DJI Launches New Agriculture Drones

DJI agriculture dronesNew Models Offer Advanced Features for Efficient Crop Management with Upgraded SmartFarm App

DJI, a global leader in civilian drones and creative camera technology, today launched the Agras T50 and T25 drones internationally, further expanding their popular Agras line. The T50 is tailored for large-scale farming efficiency, while the T25 offers portability for smaller operations. Both models integrate seamlessly with the newly improved SmartFarm app, enhancing management of aerial crop applications.

Yuan Zhang, Head of Global Sales at DJI Agriculture, highlighted the impact of these drones, “As a global leader in agriculture technology, we aim to push precision agriculture forward with the latest DJI Agras drones for spraying and spreading. To date, over 980 million acres worldwide across over 100 countries and regions have been treated by DJI Agriculture drones. With our proven solutions for crop protection, family farmers and large-scale growers can improve yields, reduce chemical usage, and cut costs, while minimizing environmental impact.”

The flagship Agras T50 features a coaxial dual-rotor design and 54-inch propellers, enhancing stability for its 40kg spraying or 50kg spreading payloads. It boasts a dual atomization spraying system that can efficiently cover up to 50 acres per hour. For additional versatility, it can be converted to spread dry granules at a rate of up to 108 kg/min.

Enhancements in the T50 include an upgraded four-antenna O3 Transmission system with a range of up to 2 km, and dual Active Phased Array Radars paired with binocular vision sensors for improved obstacle detection and terrain navigation. An optional four sprinkler kit allows for increased spray capacity, particularly beneficial in dense orchard environments.

The T50 also supports rapid turnaround with its 9-minute fast charging capability, enabled by the DB1560 Intelligent Flight Battery and a multifunctional inverter generator.

Like the T50, it supports multidirectional obstacle avoidance, terrain following, ultra-fast battery charging, and automatic operations.

The updated DJI SmartFarm app plays a crucial role in simplifying daily drone operations, offering advanced data visualization, a dynamic device management dashboard, and easy access to support and educational resources through DJI Academy.

DJI also reassured users about the security of their data, stating that no flight logs, photos, or videos are automatically synced to DJI. Data is stored locally and must be explicitly shared by users. For those outside Chinese mainland, data is stored on servers in the U.S., Japan, or Europe, protected by TLS and AES-256 encryption.

The Agras T50 and T25 are available for reservation as of today, with pricing available from local authorized DJI Agriculture dealers. More information can be found on their respective product pages on DJI’s website.
