Here are some newly leaked Sony Xperia 1 VI promo images

Sony’s Xperia 1 VI is getting official next week, on May 17, and as we’re nearing that day the leaks are really starting to pour. It almost feels like we have a new one every day at this point. We’ve already shown you some leaked renders of it recently, then another batch right after those, and today we have – you guessed it – some more renders.

These seem to be officially created by Sony for the Xperia 1 VI’s promo campaign set to start once it’s properly unveiled. One of the images confirms what a rumor said about the phone’s telephoto camera – it will be 85mm to 170mm, compared to 85mm to 125mm in the Xperia 1 V.

This seems to be the only camera that’s actually received a hardware upgrade in the Xperia 1 VI, as the rest appear to be borrowed from its predecessor. Sony has been rumored to finally consolidate all of its camera apps into one, and that in itself could be a bigger boon for usability than any small hardware upgrade.

A previous rumor that talked about buyers receiving access to some streaming movies by Sony Pictures also seems to be confirmed by one of these images. The 5,000 mAh battery is right there for everyone to see too, as is its support for both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI is expected to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a less tall and slightly wider aspect ratio than the 1 V (and this has been rumored to be 19.5:9), and it could even give up on the 4K resolution of the screen, while retaining the 120 Hz refresh rate (with 240 Hz touch sampling rate). It should run Android 14 from day one, and get 12/16GB of RAM.
